Living in Oregon means being strung along by the weather in great swaths of wet-laden weeks at this time of the year. But at least things still bloom. A few weeks ago was high daphne season–it smells so strong and sweet it’s like it’s synthetic–and the daffodils are just eclipsing. Which means it’s (deciduous) magnolia [...]
My old Prelude before they blew up the Trojan cooling tower, anyway. This was even before Chez Clay. I bring up Chez Clay (sorry if you don’t know what it is–I kind of assume it’s general knowledge sometimes, but really, it’s an inside joke/thing) because it came up as it so often does in over-beer [...]
I got out of the hospital yesterday late afternoon, and spent from then until now sleeping–I never sleep that solidly (though I do sleep a lot) in the hospital. I had to drink barium again (bleck) yesterday, though in a much smaller dose than my first CT scan in January, accompanied by anti-nausea meds (magical!), [...]
Yep, still in the hospital. The general consensus is that I have a bowel obstruction, but there’s some un-clarity about why. Some doctors are posing something to do with Crohn’s Disease, while others are almost certain I don’t even have Crohn’s. So, it’s a lot of wait-and-see-ing. Blockages like this caused by complications to surgery [...]
This time it appears that I have a partial bowel obstruction. Woke up last night with what I would describe as the worst stomach cramps/ pain I’e ever had Ended up in the ER, another CT scan, now I’m checked in again after five hours in the ER. The prognosis looks like a few days? [...]
Just posted photos to Flickr of my surgery adventure. Enjoy!
The Back, Back Road going East in Oregon Originally uploaded by lyzadanger It makes sense, financially, logistically. We don’t need two cars. I drive maybe once a week. At best. My car isn’t paid off (though I didn’t buy it new), so the chunk of change it generates is not feasible with my current uproarious [...]
I kind of forgot to mention that right before my surgery we spent the weekend in Sunriver and Bend, Ore. I suppose I had other things on my mind. One of the memorable things was the gorgeous-day strenuous hike up Smith Rock (near Terrbonne, Ore.). Autumn was with us and did put up some photos [...]
I have pretty much gone on about half a dozen of what you can call actual, typical “dates” in my life. My first (and only, really) date with David involved feats of skill, Persian food, a fedora, and Chez Clay. All good things. As a twist, this was not my last date. Note the almost [...]
Today is the first day I have dragged myself into the office, for a few hours. I wish I had more to update you on or discuss than my inner bits, but that’s how things have been rolling in my life. Most of the previous posts I cannot recall writing. I spent the weekend resting, [...]
