Due to my recent freeze on all unnecessary discretionary spending, my stream of new music has taken a bit ill. However, there are those who depend on me to mention at least occasionally some new music. Sasha: “Invol2ver”. “Involver”, released in 2004 or so, is on my top 10 list of best electronic albums ever. [...]
It’s Science: Last Night A DJ Saved Your Life » Synthtopia: “Scientists have found that listening to just 50 minutes of uplifting dance music not only increases the levels of antibodies in your body, but it decreases your levels of stress hormones, which can weaken the immune system.” Hooray! I’ve been helping myself healthier all [...]
Finally! It made it out on the Internet. I heard this live on Radio1 a month or two ago live and I was made speechless. I’m not usually impressed by mixes that aim to jam over a hundred tracks into five music, but oh my good god, this works.
I’ve always enjoyed the work that Angela McCluskey has done for Telepopmusik, but I had not heard this track before. I am really pleased by it. Genre: Chilled/Downtempo
Heard on Armin Van Buuren’s Another State of Trance episode 352. Like. …This song is a summer charmer, in the vein of some of Tiesto’s early-2000′s “In Search of Sunrise” tracks. Reminds me of a sad but intense time in 2001. Perhaps it will cheer you. Genre: Progressive Trance Intensity/Danceiness: Medium Cheesiness: Medium low Season: [...]
Enjoy a few rather pitiful photographs from the great time last night at Armin Van Buuren. Always frustrating for me when I see a place that could be beautifully photographed but have no way to make it happen. I enjoyed this show more than I have in…I would wager to assert several years. That’s high [...]
94.7 KNRK has a little bit they play sometimes about how they’ve been around for over 25 years. 25 years of alternative music. Except that’s not…possible, unless I have a really messed up recollection of things. As I remember it, we had 970 AM The Beat until the early- or mid-90′s. This is how I [...]
I’m going to see DJ Armin Van Buuren at the Roseland on Sunday evening, the 11th. Wouldn’t it be nice if you were there, too? If this is your sort of thing?
Here’s one for my friends who like the straightforward progressive trance with female vocal. Simple enough. Starr is responsible for the rather popular 2005 track “Till there was You” and there are still vestiges in this newer track of the darkness therein, an interesting minor scale the vocals climb and descend. Still, it’s nothing that [...]
Doing this a bit differently today and embedding a YouTube clip. Jose Amnesia gives us a straightahead trancer that isn’t ditzy or tiring. It’s simple and ongoing, not “song”-y or “track”-y as Mr. Pencil has come to lament about my recent picks. Genre: Trance Progressiveness: Debatable. I think so, but might be something to argue [...]
