Our house is an 1890 Victorian era, Queen Anne vernacular. What this means is that when you walk in, you’re in a hallway that runs the length of the house, with a front parlor and a formal dining room just off the hallway. The front parlor is mostly taken up by a baby grand piano. We were at first using the dining room, which has a fireplace in it, as a dining room. But we soon realized that when people came over, there was nowhere to “hang out” on the main floor except around the dining room table.
So we moved the dining room table into our large kitchen and were left with a completely empty room. Woo hoo, empty canvas!
We’ve brought in the same color guy who helped us out with choosing the exterior colors of the Gantenbein house, and we went SHOPPING this weekend. It’s a complex space, but we did manage to find a sectional sofa (finally) and we have some strong ideas about other stuff we’re getting for it. I realize this is a rather shallow thing to get excited about, but there you go.
just purchased a sectional similar to the one shown.
sat on it and watched the lunar eclipse thru the picture window.
