The postal service lived up to its reputation during our little snowstorm, delivering away amidst a frigid torrent of various weatherstuffs. UPS, however…hmmm. Something that should have arrived 2-day shipping from Amazon.com a couple of days ago is languishing on the package tracking page with the message: “Delay in delivery due to external factors.”

Come on, guys. It’s 35 degrees and the snow has been melting for a full day now. All major roads are clear. Is it really that bad? Wimps!

But seriously, is there anything more depressing and grim that listening to or watching snow go grey and dirty and melt? There’s standing slush several inches deep at every intersection and the sidewalks are still unpleasant going.
