The Internets: Free Wi-Fi in Portland Arrives Today

Theoretically at noon, but already at 10:20am, I see the free and premium networks show up in my available networks. I’m busy doing a bunch of stuff on my normal network or I’d try to see if I could connect. Ah, well, maybe I’ll try…

Wonderful games with Caslon
I, too, can see the MetroFi items on my AirPort list (I live in Buckman). But when I try to connect, I get an error message that unhelpfully says “There was an error connecting to MetroFi”. Two buttons: Try again and Close. No help, no inkling of what the error might be.
I tried disconnecting my home network first, same message.
Anybody got a clue?
