1530GMT: David got me truffle-infused salt for my birthday. Start my working-at-home day off right with a truffle-salted soft-boiled egg.
1030GMT: Receive my copy of Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom, both of which I got for abnormally low prices. Squealing and unwrapping of Fed-Ex box.
2100GMT: Truffle-salting my grilled cheese sandwich. Truffle-salting my cream of tomato soup.
2145GMT: Aileen knocks of a scab too early in Toulouse. Blood everywhere.
2200GMT: Learning far more than I’d ever want to know (which is to say hardly anything) about Python’s string.encode() method. I don’t really care about ISO-8859-15.
2330GMT: David opens a can of tuna to make us sandwiches for our evening class only to find out it’s actually crab. Crab sandwiches it is.
0120GMT: Arrive Eola Hills, Salem area, after driving through tempest and unique weather and traffic to beat the band. Lateness-to-class factors include very slow cars but also stopping for trail mix and getting off at the Woodburn exit and trying to decide what seemed more reasonable: class or shopping at the Puma factory outlet.
0145GMT: Trying to sketch a Geneva Double Curtain (GDC) trellis while taking notes but also simultaneously working on client work and fighting with CSS.
0300GMT: Receive graded midterm back in viticulture class. Scored 103.5%. I’ll take that.
Told you it was minutiae.
Curious about where you got CS3 for “abnormally low prices”. Something you can share? I’m still working with Photoshop 6, and just haven’t found the few new features justify the cost of upgrading. But if it’s cheap enough…
Nope, sorry, can’t share this one (or I would have). It was a one-off thing through a friend of a friend. I feel very lucky.
That’s okay, I understand. A roommate of mine once had a brother who worked at Adobe and got free software once a year (or so). That year, the brother didn’t use that option for himself, but was happy to use it for me. I paid for shipping. That’s why I’m still on Photoshop 6 and Illustrator 9. Because you can’t beat legal copies for the cost of shipping. Perhaps similar to your story?
Hmm … “once” modifies “roommate of mine”, not “had a brother”. FYI.
apparently the truffle salt was a big hit…
