Books and History: The Fall of Aeschylus–A Live, and Very Savage, Tortoise

I love Wikipedia, but, this passage is somewhat lacking in elegance and, well, truthiness, likely. I came across it while trying to learn more about some of the Greekie Heads I’m reading lately:

Aeschylus was killed in 456 BC when an eagle (or more likely a Lammergeier) dropped a live, and very savage tortoise on him, apparently because the bird mistook his bald head for a stone. Some accounts differ, claiming that the bird dropped a stone on his head, mistaking it for a large egg…a very shiny egg…
